The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published ten times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.

On the women’s fashion pages we show trendy blazers. With traditional tailoring, shoulder pads, wide lapel collars and oversize silhouettes, the new blazers are a relaxed version of the power dressing of the 80s and 90s. Next, you’ll learn all about Swiss lace and Swiss embroidery specialists Forster Rohner. In the pattern technique, you’ll find instructions on how to construct a lining pattern for a blazer, as well as the pattern construction for a sports bra. Then we show you how to make shoulder pads yourself. Handmade shoulder pads are time-consuming and material-intensive to make, but they can play an important role in ensuring a perfect fit for custom-made garments. Starting on page 26, we introduce you to wardrobe mistress and costume designer Alexandra Brandner. From her workshop in Mühldorf, Bavaria, come all the spectacular costumes behind which the stars of the successful German TV show “The Masked Singer” hide.

On the men’s fashion pages we show you the runway trend of the current men’s fashion: wide pants. Designers create a cool mix of formal business pants and elegant casual pants from wide chinos and suit pants with creative design solutions. Following, you will find the new fabric trends of Munich Fabric Start for the season Spring/ Summer 2022.”WE ARE ALL IN” is the motto of the Munich Textile Fair. “WE ARE ALL IN” is the theme of the Munich Textile Fair. In the pattern technique there is a tutorial on grading a parka with side seam and hood. Afterwards, men’s tailor Kathrin Emmer shows the professional processing of waistband lining on a pair of men’s trousers. Under the motto “No tailors, no clothes!” the tailors have been fighting for an emotional reboot from the lockdown since February. We spoke to various ateliers from Schleswig-Holstein to Bavaria about how the restrictions of the last year have concretely affected the tailoring trade and with what ideas and strategies they are preparing for the new normality that is not yet quite tangible. You can find the article on page 23. Finally, starting on page 26, we talk about the numerous world-famous silk companies that settled around Lake Como centuries ago and have been producing the finest silks for haute couture and international high fashion houses ever since.

The enclosed pattern contains two statement blouses for women (in European sizes 36 – 46).
