The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published ten times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.

On the designer look pages of women’s fashion we show sophisticated top variations. The off-the-shoulder tops are often just a touch of nothing, but can have a powerful effect. In the following portrait, we introduce the internationally sought-after 3D printing expert Julia Koerner and ask her about her career, special pieces as well as prejudices and predictions about fashion from the 3D printer. The pattern technique this time revolves around dungarees, which are currently enjoying great popularity again in the wake of the 90s revival. In addition to a classic dungaree, a dungaree with wide straps and a model with a zip, there are also three special hem finishes waiting for you. Of course, these can also be interesting on trousers without bibs. Looking into the future of the tailoring trade, we have collected voices from the industry. They are often worried because there are signs of a decline in training in the tailoring craft. But where there is concern, there is also hope and ideas for improvement. We let the trainers, representatives of universities and chambers of crafts have their say.

On the designer look pages of men‘s fashion, we feature trousers for the high temperatures. Here it’s all about shorts. Those who find this topic too banal will be surprised: Suit combinations of jacket and shorts are very much in vogue and convince with pattern sophistication and a refreshing nonchalance. This is followed by a portrait of Sven Krolczik. He is a men’s tailor and runs his own atelier in Kassel. What sets him apart from other tailors is that he successfully completed his apprenticeship through self-study instead of the classic dual training. He proves that it is not always the path that counts, but that other options also lead to the goal. He talks to us about hurdles, the character of his work and the relevance of networking among tailors. In the pattern technique you will find four extravagant, modern jacket models. A jacket with an overlapping front, an asymmetrical model with a belt fastening, a jacket variant with zip slits and a jacket with a double effect are waiting to be realised. With the tie in the processing section, we highlight a classic of fashion history and show step by step how the tie is professionally tailored. Last but not least, in this issue you will find the fabric and colour trends for 2023/24 in the “Fashion Colour Trend Report” by the Pantone Colour Institute.

The enclosed pattern contains two long trenchcoats (in European sizes 36 – 50).

This issue contains 60 pages.
