M. Müller & Sohn Magazin 01-02.2026
Professional Magazine for Fashion and Pattern Making // Trench Jackets // Sporty Suit Jackets // Horsehair Canvas // Pattern: Boiler Suit & Tool BeltDeutsch
The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published six times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
The womenswear section of the current issue opens with the designer look »Marie Antoinette.« Inspired by historical silhouettes, opulence and contemporary interpretation, we explore how the fashionable legacy of the illustrious queen continues to resonate today. In the following interview, we speak with Jonas Stickann about his professional background, his creative signature, and his perspective on gender-free fashion positioned between craftsmanship, concept and zeitgeist. In the women´s pattern making section, trench jackets take centre stage. Four different short versions of this classic coat are presented, demonstrating how versatile the interplay of traditional elements can be when combined with varied cut lines, details and proportions. In the breifly introduced section, we present the Blaudruckerei Koó and offer insights into the traditional technique of indigo dyeing, as well as the connection between craftsmanship, material and contemporary design. The portrait of Sabrina Stadlober brings us closer to her design approach, rooted in material cycles, craftsmanship and an emotional connection to clothing, and deepens our view of the people and contexts shaping the industry. The womenswear section is complemented by the industry directory.
The menswear section opens with the designer look »Fluidity.« The focus is on flowing silhouettes, soft transitions and a new understanding of movement and lightness in menswear. In the portrait section, we introduce Caroline Andrew, bespoke tailor and entrepreneur on Savile Row. We highlight not only her work, but also her role as a woman within the iconic domain of men’s bespoke tailoring. The pattern-cutting section for menswear focuses on sporty suit jackets. Three detailed models demonstrate how athletic comfort and classic tailoring can be successfully combined. In the processing section, we delve deep into craftsmanship: step by step, we explain the creation of a horsehair canvas and demonstrate its importance for the shape, structure and overall quality of a jacket. The menswear section is rounded off with the editors’ tips, featuring selected events, book and TV recommendations, as well as the Editor’s Pick, in which we present the best and most trusted cutting tools.
The enclosed pattern sheet contains boiler suit & tool belt in sizes XS – XXL.
