The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published six times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.

The current issues womenswear section of the current issue opens with the designer look “All About The Collar”. Sometimes crisp, sometimes playful, sometimes elegant — the collar continually reframes the neckline, the décolletage and the overall poise of a garment, proving that what seems like a small detail can make an enormous impact. The pattern technique puts flamenco dresses centre stage: two dresses, a skirt and a top demonstrate just how closely fit, freedom of movement and stage presence are intertwined. Flounces, feminine lines and close-to-the-body silhouettes demand both a feel for proportion and genuine technical skill in pattern-cutting and construction. The garment construction section shows how a chain can be incorporated as a decorative element — as a striking interruption at the hem or neckline, creating an alluring interplay of skin, openness and metallic accent. Under “Briefly Introduced”, we present bespoke tailor Korinna Bennecker. Our portrait feature introduces Franziska Burgert and her bridal couture atelier — two women who show just how individual, bold and thoroughly contemporary bespoke work can and must be today. The womenswear section closes with the trade directory.

The menswear section begins with the designer look “The New Natural”. Natural materials such as linen, cotton, raffia, plant fibres and suede-like surfaces appear powerful, raw and almost archaic — yet quiet, refined and effortlessly relaxed. Our report from Pitti Uomo 110 in Florence explores what endures of classic menswear when its conventions are reflected, dismantled and recast entirely anew. This issue’s pattern technique is devoted to the field jacket — tracing its military origins into the present and exploring the full breadth of its creative potential. Four styles with varying details and silhouette options demonstrate the full creative scope of this wardrobe staple. In our interview, we speak with Gaetano Aloisio, one of Italy’s most distinguished bespoke tailors, about his background, his training, his sense of responsibility and what a career in bespoke craftsmanship is truly built on today.
