M. Müller & Sohn Magazin 03-04.2026
Professional Magazine for Fashion and Pattern Making // Shirt Dresses // Vintage Loungewear // Drawstring Waistband with Adjustment Tab // Pattern: Golf ClothingDeutsch
The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published six times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
The current issues womenswear section opens with the Designer Look »Haute Couture«. The focus is on this season’s couture shows, including the debuts of Jonathan Anderson for Dior and Mathieu Blazy for Chanel – characterised by outstanding craftsmanship, opulent material use and controlled rigour. The following trade fair report covers Munich Fabric Start 2026, held under the theme PLEASURE, highlighting an industry in active transition despite margin pressure, restrained consumer demand and increasing regulatory complexity. In pattern technique, the focus is on shirt dresses, presenting a range of pattern developments that combine the clean construction of classic shirting with the feminine silhouette of a dress – from straight, timeless styles to designs with draping, shaping and asymmetrical elements. In the section »Briefly Introduced«, we present Britta Eizenhöfer and her carding workshop in Loosen near Ludwigslust, where she processes raw wool from sheep and alpacas into spinnable fleece and revives a nearly lost craft. The portrait is dedicated to Karoline Doose and her atelier Tailor Couture – a bespoke tailor whose path into the trade began with the realisation that ready-to-wear never provided a proper fit. The womenswear section is completed by the industry directory.
The menswear section begins with the Designer Look »Playing Checks & Stripes«. Classic check and stripe patterns are presented in a contemporary interpretation with a fresh, spring-oriented appeal. The trade fair report focuses on Pitti Immagine Uomo 109 in Florence – a key indicator of long-term developments in menswear, emphasising functional pattern construction, high-quality materials and forward-looking innovations. Pattern technique is dedicated to vintage loungewear, whose characteristic design elements – shawl collars, tie belts and refined fabrics such as flannel or silk – are being reinterpreted as the boundaries between daywear, leisurewear and homewear continue to dissolve. In the processing section, a step-by-step guide demonstrates how to produce a drawstring waistband with Adjustment tab – an elegant and comfortable alternative to a conventional waistband with zip fastening. The menswear section is complemented by editorial recommendations and the Editor’s Pick – featuring proven and high-quality tailoring tools.
The enclosed pattern sheet contains golfwear in sizes 44–58.
