The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published six times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
The women’s section opens with the Designer Look pages under the title Playing Darts. We present a variety of ways to work creatively with darts and show how they transform 2D into 3D, from subtle to extravagant. In our interview we introduce costume designer Alexander Djurkov Hotter, speaking with him about his career path, his working methods and his current stage productions.
The patternmaking section features four detailed overalls designed for standout moments on cooler days, including styles with a cowl neck, sailor collar, deep neckline or wrap look. This is followed by our annual overview summarizing all issues from 2025. In the processing section, we focus on processing cording and ropework techniques, providing step-by-step instructions for making them.
We then look back and ahead: What was achieved in 2025, and what developments can be expected in our technical college in 2026? The issue also includes a directory of current industry contacts.
In the menswear section, the Designer Look also highlights the theme of overalls. We identified two strong runway tendencies: elegant and loose fit. We continue with a report on the young talent competition by » Die Herrenschneider«, outlining who won which awards and why this event is so important.
The men’s patternmaking section focuses on trousers. Under the headline Trousers. One Basic Battern – Endless possibilities, four trouser designs are developed that demonstrate the versatility of a well-balanced basic block through variations in silhouette, proportion and detailing. For colour forecasting, we look ahead to the coming year and introduce Transformative Teal, named Colour of the Year 2026 by Coloro and WGSN.
In the Short Introductions section, we explore a special material and its manufacturing process: loden. Editorial recommendations on events, books and TV, as well as the best tailoring tools in the Editor’s Pick, complete the issue.
The enclosed pattern sheet contains blazer dresses in sizes 36 – 50.
