The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is issued ten times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available in english language as a download. Each issue of the M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern

On the ladies fashion pages you will find inspiration for the ladies costume. The classic business outfit consists of a combination of jacket and skirt, is an absolute classic in the tailor’s studio and is currently celebrating a renaissance on the international catwalks of prêt-à-porter. Afterwards we will focus on another major fashion trend, upcycling. Author Sabine von Kienlin traces the trend and reveals tips and ideas about upcycling fashion. In the following article you will learn how the Upcycling artist Paula Kunkel creates her fashion. The Hamburg designer Julia Starp also specialises in resource-saving and sustainable fashion. GOTS-certified fabrics, recycled buttons, ingredients made in Germany and elegant designs that offer more variability in styling, such as a reversible coat: that’s what makes Julia Starp’s fashion so special. In the pattern technique part, Jasmin Clausen shows the pattern construction for two stylish yoga jumpsuits and a blouse with puffed, serrated sleeves. On page 26 we look at the eventful history of one of the most important tailoring tools. The history of thimbles goes back many thousands of years to the Neolithic Age. Finally Ronja Ebeling reports about a natural fibre with special characteristics. Innovative fabrics made from the peel of citrus fruits are a new possibility to use existing resources in the fashion industry.

The men’s fashion pages show models of the current men’s fashion 2020 where fashion becomes wearable art. Bright colours, striking contrasts in artistic paintings and drawings: the current catwalk fashion is painted, scribbled, sprayed, batiked, marbled and printed with creative patterns and portraits. This is followed by a portrait of the Augsburg based Hat Manufactory of Christian Lembert and daughter Pippi. Here hats of all kinds are manufactured on the highest quality level and from the best natural materials. Starting on page 10 you will find instructions for designing and sewing a bucket hat. The 90s it piece, also known as a fisherman’s hat, is currently celebrating a huge comeback. In the pattern technique part you will find grading instructions for a t-shirt and a longsleeve shirt. The Mecca of Italian tailoring is Naples. Until today the Neapolitan “Moda mascile su misura” is a symbol for the light-weight, smart suit. Author Angelika Frank has visited some of the most famous masters in their studios for you. Finally, Roland Thießen, Director and Deputy Chief Master of the Custom Tailoring Guild Rhine-Main, explains the reason for the attitude of the ministerial bureaucracy and the cultural break in the matter of clothing and why the reintroduction of the master craftsman’s duty was denied in the most official way, that custom tailoring is a cultural asset worth protecting in Germany.

The enclosed pattern contains a business costume from a skirt and a blazer jacket (in sizes 36 – 46).
