Front and Back Pattern

Use a close-fitting skirt pattern for stretch fabrics as a foundation. Draft the basic pattern depending on the stretch of the material either without any ease additions included or even with a percentage reduction of the width measurements. The basic pattern is the foundation of all following skirt designs.

The variations are designed using the modular principle and derive from each other. Theshaping seams are identical in the first three designs. The designs vary by different style elements such as different waistline styles, flounces, ruffles and frills. Draft the basic skirt pattern as shown in the illustration. Mark the length depending on the length of skirt with 36 – 40 cm.

Front and Back Pattern

Draft the style seams as illustrated. Relocate the front and back dart intake to the front and back style seam. Equalize the seam lengths and draw the new waistline. Mark 18 cm for the side length of the flounce. Measure the length of the flounce seam on the front and back pattern. Draft the flounce pattern piece with this measurement.
